Michael B. McGrath, President of Holmes and McGrath, Inc., graduated from Northeastern University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, and he is registered in Massachusetts as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor and a Registered Professional Engineer. From November 1970 to the incorporation of Holmes and McGrath, Inc., Mr. McGrath worked for Philip D. Holmes as the office manager. Mr. McGrath is Past President and Secretary of the Cape Cod Society of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and has served as a director of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers, Inc. From 1971 to 1982, Mr. McGrath was a U.S. Army Reserve Engineer Officer and served in various functions with the 43rd Engineer Battalion (CC). Among the positions Mr. McGrath held was Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, and Battalion Intelligence Officer. Mr. McGrath attended Engineer Officer Basic Course and has completed numerous correspondence courses and seminars during his active reserve duties. In the course of his professional experience, Mr. McGrath has acquired a working knowledge and expertise in the Wetlands Protection Act, environmental approvals, permitting of waterfront structures, zoning matters, Subdivision Control Laws, and the design of small-scale civil engineering works of all types. Mr. McGrath is currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, the American Society of Testing and Materials, and the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers. |
